Pronunciation for Health professionals is a program offering personal pronunciation within a small group setting. The program is specifically designed for health professionals using vocabulary, exercises, and role-playing unique to the medical setting.
An accent is a unique, personal trait to be celebrated. Pronunciation training does not seek to eliminate an individual's accent, but rather to assist students in altering their speech patterns, so communication with other English speakers becomes more precise, clear and confident.
Pronunciation training is an intensive process that involves developing an awareness of the linguistic elements of English speech patterns and applying these 'rules' to one's own speech.
Students will learn to recognize and adjust:
Each student will be assessed at the beginning and end of the program, and provided with a personal progress report.
An internationally-educated health professional, or individual whose first language is not English
Meet the general eligibility requirements
Have a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6+ or equivalent.
Commit to attending the live weekly online classes.(Tuesdays, 10:00am - 11:00am Central)
Motivated and able to commit completing weekly online lessons & assessment tasks. (Average 3 hrs weekly)
Online Pronunciation Classes: Tuesdays 10:00am - 11:00am CDT.
Spring 2019: April 1 - June 21'2019
Fall 2019: September 16 - December 6'2019
