Pronunciation for Health professionals

Pronunciation for Health professionals is a program offering personal pronunciation within a small group setting.  The program is specifically designed for health professionals using vocabulary, exercises, and role-playing unique to the medical setting.

An accent is a unique, personal trait to be celebrated. Pronunciation training does not seek to eliminate an individual's accent, but rather to assist students in altering their speech patterns, so communication with other English speakers becomes more precise, clear and confident.

Pronunciation training is an intensive process that involves developing an awareness of the linguistic elements of English speech patterns and applying these 'rules' to one's own speech.

Students will learn to recognize and adjust:

  • intonation and stress patterns
  • vowel production
  • consonant articulation

Each student will be assessed at the beginning and end of the program, and provided with a personal progress report.
